Birthday is tomorrow… 46 and counting…

Tomorrow is the 46th birthday.  It is the only one so far in which I cannot celebrate with Mom, the person brought this life into the world… twice.  She brought me into the world as a baby and after her passing, gave a new chance at a happier, simpler life via being able to afford to camp and explore.  It seems that exploring, cooking, writing a little poetry, seeing new things, and such would make Mom happy.  She loved to travel.

With thoughts of Mom in mind, I have contemplated buying a ring or tattoo of some kind.  Being a 340 pound PUSS, the thought of a tattoo is not appealing.  A ring seemed like something I could do without pain, so long as it didn’t cross any electrical wires or get hooked on a nail, etc.

An ad for a ring popped up the other day on my browser and it seemed to perfectly fit the desire.  It was affordable, attractive, fit the love of Star Trek, and would give me something to remember Mom by.  The ring is made of sterling silver with black onyx.  In the center of the emblems is a small diamond.  Apparently, they did not have any dilithium crystals.  A diamond will do, however.  I hope the ring looks as good as in the picture.

Well, tomorrow is the birthday… At least it’s a chance to enjoy a few freebies at the local eateries.  Thankfully, it’s a year before the next one.  Have a good one.  Enjoy the day!

About VanTrekker

I am a former vandweller in Eastern Iowa who, for several years (off and on), lived in a 2007 Chevy cargo van. I still travel around Iowa with my tortoise shell cat, Jennifer Stefanie. Our favorite place to explore is the Country Heritage Community, the four far northeastern counties of Iowa (Clayton, Winneshiek, Allamakee, and Fayette). Ride along as we fish in pristine trout streams, enjoy fine home cooked camping meals, and meet new people. It's all possible on a shoestring budget. Happy travels always! --- Brad, the "Van Trekker"
