Hello and thank you for visiting! So much has been going on lately. But first, here’s some exciting news… My recipe collection is now FREE! I wanted to sell it online but there’s just not a lot of demand for trout recipes – it’s too much of a niche. Nevertheless, I want more people to try this delicious, versatile fish and, if they like it, to try cooking it in different ways. Trout is going to play an important role in my life by providing a source of inexpensive, high quality protein as well as lots of exercise and outdoor therapy.
Please feel free to download a free copy of the recipe collection at the link below. I hope you enjoy the recipes because there were many dozens of hours’ worth of work involved! All I ask is that if you like what you’ve read, please leave a comment. The encouragement makes it all worthwhile. Wherever life leads, there will be van travels, Serena will ride along, and we’ll be seeing some new sights… and posting them.

If you feel inclined to help the blog a bit, I’m am leaving the donation button up and will continue to share 25% of the proceeds with the American Diabetes Association.
In other news, the plans for the future are becoming increasingly clear. I’m going to fall off the face of the earth for a while (likely in mid to late August) but the blog will be kept active and updated. The plan is to set up a home base along the Highway 150 corridor in Northeast Iowa… and then take a little mini-vacation to Minnesota to get my tomcat, Jesse.
Here is the part that is bittersweet. When word got out, I was offered a promotion and more money at McDonalds after just two months of hard work… Declining the offer was an arduous decision and has caused tensions with friends and family but I cannot give up the dream of living in the hills. It’s now or never!
Life is short. Don’t let it pass by!
