It’s Finally April…

GF Pizza _ Training Hello and welcome to the blog.

Here is a picture of some of us training at work to make pizzas.   I’d really had high hopes that the job would work out well.  I’m sorry to say that it did not… that is, at least it did not for one of the people in the picture.

In my case, the new gig has been everything I expected and more.  Sorry, but I had to play a little April fools joke.   😀  One of the people in the picture actually did not want to make pizzas and work in a convenience store but so be it.  The rest of us love our new jobs.

I’ve already put in morning and afternoon shifts.  Last night was the first evening working the overnight hours.  It was fun!  We have multiple people working at night and that makes it safer.  The late hours were slower [than daytime] meaning that a lot of cleaning happened and the time went by quickly.  I was still home at 5 AM and got some good sleep.  Perhaps after an overnight shift it will be possible to go up north, catch some fish, and do a little day camping — anywhere!  There are some really nice advantages to these hours!

Last night before work I flew the Syma X5c-1 drone and took some video of the neighborhood.  The following are screenshots made from the videos.  The drone didn’t go over about 40-50 feet due to a bit of wind in the area.  I can’t wait till things turn green and I can get some shots of the trout streams in the coming days… It’s fun stuff!

If you click on the pictures, they will expand to show a lot more detail.

Looking north…

For now it’s back to work.  Depending on the weather (we’re getting thunderstorms tonight), Serena and I might do a little daytime camping on the day off tomorrow.

It’s going to be a great spring and summer and we’ll be checking out out some new places.

Take care!  Safe and happy travels!

About VanTrekker

I am a former vandweller in Eastern Iowa who, for several years (off and on), lived in a 2007 Chevy cargo van. I still travel around Iowa with my tortoise shell cat, Jennifer Stefanie. Our favorite place to explore is the Country Heritage Community, the four far northeastern counties of Iowa (Clayton, Winneshiek, Allamakee, and Fayette). Ride along as we fish in pristine trout streams, enjoy fine home cooked camping meals, and meet new people. It's all possible on a shoestring budget. Happy travels always! --- Brad, the "Van Trekker"
