Happy Easter

CrossHello and welcome to the blog.

Happy Easter weekend, a time for many of us to celebrate the death and Resurrection of our Savior, Jesus Christ.

Sadly and predictably, it’s difficult to find an Easter graphic with any reference to the true meaning of Easter; mostly you see bunnies and eggs.  I love consuming both…fried.   😀

Do what you love and love what you doSince it’s a holiday weekend, it’s necessary to work Friday, Saturday, and Sunday… not a problem!  The job is still going great.  Working eight hours at the convenience store is like five hours of laboring in fast food.  The money per hour is better, the pace is far less intense; I can work longer hours resulting in the same sized paycheck each week that I used to make in two weeks at the fast food place!  Other than a little stiffness [as a reminder of one’s age], it’s true what they say… If you love what you do, you won’t work a day!  This job is definitely a keeper.   😀

Easter BunnyThe van is going to get some use this next week, weather permitting.  Stream conditions are improving up north.  I’m anxious to go fishing, hiking, and make some drone videos around the far northeast Iowa area, hugging the Minnesota border.  This time Jesse will probably ride along for the fun… It will be his first camping trip where we catch, clean, and eat one of his favorites – fresh trout.  There is a new waterfall to check out and I’m going to try a different trout stream that is said to be very pretty.  It should be a fun time.

For now, take care and have a pleasant Easter.  Thanks for stopping by!

About VanTrekker

I am a former vandweller in Eastern Iowa who, for several years (off and on), lived in a 2007 Chevy cargo van. I still travel around Iowa with my tortoise shell cat, Jennifer Stefanie. Our favorite place to explore is the Country Heritage Community, the four far northeastern counties of Iowa (Clayton, Winneshiek, Allamakee, and Fayette). Ride along as we fish in pristine trout streams, enjoy fine home cooked camping meals, and meet new people. It's all possible on a shoestring budget. Happy travels always! --- Brad, the "Van Trekker"
