Happy Independence Day to All!

Hi and welcome to the blog! ** Happy Independence Day ** to all!
Thank you to the brave men and women of America who served
and continue to serve this country and keep us free!

Last Monday was spent with buddy aka “Little Brother” Johnnie in Muscatine, Iowa. We had some delicious ice cream, drove around town seeing the sights, and had a lot of fun.   I took Johnnie to Dollar Tree to do some shopping for cool items and things to use around the house.

Johnnie Lynn on the left and Brad. He’s a Golden Girls nut. Johnnie’s “Boo Boo” cat and Duke could be twin brothers.

Later that evening I cooked a big meatloaf – Johnnie’s favorite – using a favorite recipe at the home base. The instructions will be shared in a future camping post.  I had to come back later Monday evening but enjoyed a night away in the van to see some stars and good friends.  Johnnie and I agreed we need to get together more often.

Though I didn’t get to take many pictures around Muscatine, there was much to see in Cedar County, the county that is south and east of home.

Beautiful patriotic barn south of Clarence, Iowa on county road x-64. The tree obscured the face of the statue of liberty.

Near Clarence, Iowa

Another view of that barn.

Left side of the large mural in Clarence, Iowa. Clarence has the Union Pacific train line passing a block to the left of this beautiful picture.

The rest of that beautiful mural in Clarence.

A dedicated Elvis fan. Even the flag on the porch has a photo of “The King”. This was on the main street (Highway 30) in Clarence.

Yet another cool mural about fifteen minutes to the west in the town of Mechanicsville (just east of Mount Vernon).

And lastly, this scary picture…  The shirt came from the Heroes and Icons network
store…   (HandI.com)  They play Star Trek six days per week!

New Star Trek Captain’s shirt. It’s better than a red shirt. (The guys in red shirts were often killed in episodes!) And no, that’s not a wig. 🙂

Thanks for visiting!  Safe and happy camping!
